Four Mori Statue |
|
It is the most famous Livorno's monument. It is placed at the town entrance and was made in honor of Francesco I De Medici (whose statue is on the base). The bronze statues, put on the base foot, represent four enchained and suffering African prisoners (the so called Mori, black people), whose plastic bodies, portrayed in the torsion moment, are modeled in an extreme realistic way .
