In the elegant Garibaldi Avenue, the main city street, is the clay sculpture shown in the picture. It is a Sergio Pucci's work and is called "The stranger can only see what he knows". Before the statue is a fountain which is in the shape of a boat. The pavement is decorated with a motif representing the waves of the Arno river. These three works are conceptually conveying the idea of travel and migration.
St. Lawrence
The church-tower of St. Lawrence is the town symbol. It was originally built as a fortress located on the top of the hill overlooking the whole valley and, afterwards, turned into a church dedicated to the patron Saint, St. John Evangelist. The interiors are decorated with noteworthy frescoes by the Florentine master Corso di Buono.
