St. John's Cathedral has an outstanding Pisan Romanesque facade divided into three loggiaed storeys and featuring a six arched marble portico.

The Lion's Well |

The lion's well is in Market Square, the main piazza in town. It is constituted by Ionic columns supporting an entablature decorated with a cornice and several civic coats of arms. The structure is topped by a cute statue of a little lion which names the monument.

St. Barbara fortress |

St. Barbara fortress is located in the gardens of Freedom Marthyr Square. The castle has huge battlements provided with embrasures, crenellated towers and a deep dich surrounding it. It was built in the 15th century by Cosimo I de Medici and has served as a bivuac and as jail.
