It was erected by the Lombards in 11th century. It has a round plan and is made of a local stone. It was part of battlements, now lost.

St. Gerard Cathedral |

The Cathedral, whose structure is originally Medieval, has a late Baroque facade built in 1799, reminiscent of Vanvitellian architecture, that is to say a style popular in Southern Italy in the eighteenth century, named after the famous Flemish master Van Vittel. Noteworthy is the original limestone campanile, whose spire was recently added.

It is an Umbertine building, that is to say an Italian Eclectic-revival style popular at the end of nineteenth century, featuring two wing porticos and a projecting central bay decorated with band rusticated pillars. It re-opened in 2004.
