View of Our Lady of Assumption Church, one among the 44 Maratea churches. The simple and harmonious façade has a rose window and a remarkable lunette over the main portal. The beautiful bell tower stands on a curve arch and has four large windows. In the middle of the square you can see a statue topping a smart pillar.

Restructured many times because shaken by various earthquakes, St. Mary Major Church is a main town sight. It is in the Maratea historic centre and houses in its interior remarkable works of art. The impressive octagonal bell tower is topped with a spire dome.

| Christ Redeemer Statue |

The Christ Redeemer statue is an impressive and majestic work. It is placed on the top of Mt. St. Blaise overlooking all the Policastro Gulf. It was built by the sculptor Bruno Innocenti and is renowned for its size (it is 22 mt high) and beauty. Today it recalls many tourists from all over the world, being second in its size only to the Rio De Janeiro one.
