Brooms' Villa |

Country house, previously called Ferrigni Villa. From April 1836 to March 1837, Giacomo Leopardi, one of the greatest Italian poets, lived there. The Doric columns portico, with the overhanging terrace, was lately added, in 1907. The memorial on the right says: "Here, on the arid back/ of the impressive mount/ Vesuvius exterminator/ Giacomo Leopardi/ wrote/ The Broom and the Moonset".

Holy Cross Basilica View, rebuilt on the ancient church's ruins that were completely destroyed by the 1794 Vesuvius' eruption. The neo-classical façade is divided in two levels, the lower is comprise six columns with Corinthian capitals and two niches housing St. Gennaro and St. Elena‘s statues dated 1858. On the left side is the baroque bell-tower which survived the 1794 eruption. Inside the naves there are two memorials commemorating the visits of the Popes Pio IX (1849) and John Paul II (1990).
