The medieval and modern Alife was built into the pre existent Roman walls and castrum (settlement), which was a sort of military camp. The Roman walls are perfectly preserved and are completing encircling Alife.

This elliptical building was a Roman funerary hall where is supposed to be buried the Acili Glabrioni family. It was located outside the city walls and today lies just in front of the Town Hall square.

This building is a good example of the 17th century architecture in the Volturno-Matese valley and was a simple country stately home. Alessandro Vessella, renowned mottos and anthems composer, lived here.
