| Villa d'Este |

The striking Villa d'Este was commissioned by Cardinal Ippolito d'Este in the 16th century and is a masterpiece of Italian Renaissance architecture, renowned world wide for the beauty of its luscious gardens, designed by Pirro Ligorio. The gardens feature audacious and handsome fountains fed by the Aniene river, whose famous cascades are located in the Tivoli commune. The villa is UNESCO World Heritage Site.

| Rocca Pia |

Pope Pius II built the fortress in 1461. It is square planned and has four angular crenellated towers. The enceinte and towers are surmounted by walkways and the entire structure is provided with moats and ditches. The Rocca hosts expos and conventions.

| St. Lawrence Basilica |

The basilica is a very old monument. Its construction dates back to the 6th century, but has undergone numerous alterations. The noteworthy campanile is medieval, with the exception of the spire, and features elegant round arched single and twin cell bells. The main facade is, on the contrary, mainly late Baroque: it has an impressive three arch loggia surmounted by a friezed entablature.
