Dedicated to St. George, the impressive Cathedral features a colored facade decorated with marble bands; the church has undergone numerous restorations and is hence divided in a Romanesque lower part and a gothic upper part.

| Estense Castle |

Ferrara symbol, it was built in the fourteenth-century as a tower part of the defense fortifications system. Lately it became the Royal Palace and many luxurious furnished rooms were added. In the picture you can see four squared towers, in the corners, linked with walls surrounding the court-yard. The castle is surrounded by a moat and is a UNESCO "World Humanity Heritage" monument.

The picture shows the very central Trento and Trieste square; in the centre you can see the famous and impressive Victoria Tower, which was part of the old Podestà Palace (Town Hall), restored in the twentieth-century.
