Italy Unity Square |
Picturesque view of the city's largest square. It is the meeting point of the Trieste inhabitants and epitomizes the Nineteenth-Century's Italian liberty and neo-gothic architecture, largely influenced by the Mittel-European taste. On the background you can see the Town Hall with the Clock Tower; in the left side is a Neo-Renaissance building lodging the Prefecture.

Miramare Castle |
The enchanting Nineteen-Century Castle built for Massimiliano of Hauptburg's will and built with the typical white stone of Istria, the same used for The Capitol Hill in Washington DC. The main Façade points toward the sea. A natural park, called The Natural Miramare Marine Reserve has been established. The Castle is remembered also for a famous Giosuè Carducci's poem.
