Sforza's Castle |
The Sforza's Castle was built for Francis Sforza. In the picture, you can see the Filarete tower (also called the Clock tower) with the Sforza's coat of arms. On the castle back there is a beautiful park, where the Milanese can take shelter from the town chaos, called Sempione (which was the Duke's Visconti park, lately annexed by the Sforzas to their castle), In front of the castle there is a remarkable spurting fountain.

St. Babila Church |
One of the most important church in Milan, restored many times, it is an exquisite example of Romanesque architecture in Lombardy. The importance that the church had in the past made possible for its parish priest to get an honor's seat in religious ceremonies. The great Italian novelist and poet Alexander Manzoni was baptized here.
