Piazza Giavazzi is the main square in town and is decorated with a big cocoon referring to the traditional and well known sericulture manufacturing that made Cernusco famous all over the world.

Assumption of Virgin Mary Church |

The parish of Cernusco upon the Naviglio had been restored several times and is dedicated to the Assumption of Virgin Mary. Noteworthy is the Renaissance Revival portal, decorated with a broken pediment. The interiors retain the original late Baroque altars and altar-paintings.

Navigli were artificial canals used for irrigation and transport in Medieval Lombardy. The Martesana Naviglio was dig in the 15th century under Francesco Sforza and Filippo Maria Visconti's rules and then restored by Leonardo da Vinci, under the Ludovico the Moor's government.
