World Wars Memorial |
|
The World Wars Memorial is colloquially known as Dona. It represents a weeping widow holding a broken sword. The monument was originally set in the piazza in 1922 but was removed by the Fascists in order to fuse the bronze parts to forge new weapons. The structure was finally restored and re-located only in 2002.
