Palatine's gates |
|
The ancient gates of entrance to the city of Roman Age Augusta Taurinorum are in Cesar August Square. Of great historical and artistic value, they are made in bricks and include two polygonal towers adjoined by the main wall where several windows are disposed on two levels. In the picture you can see four arches, two of larger dimensions to enable the transit of carts and two of smaller dimensions for pedestrians. During the nineteen century The Palatine's gates became a building‘s façade and for this the Monument is still today identified by the Turinese as "Palace's gate".
