Ivrea Castle |

In this picture you can see the massive castle with four cylindrical embattled towers. The castle was built for Amedeo VI of Savoia for defensive purpose, and then turned into a residence and, lately, even into a prison. It is the must see attraction in town.

The beautiful Ivrea Dome is close to the Ivrea Castle, on a hill-top. It was built in the 10th century and restored many times. The façade, that has an inscription remembering the previous remaking, is clearly inspired to the classical rules of symmetry as showed by many typical patterns

In King Vittorio Emanuele square you can see the town hall with its nice civic tower. The square is the town life centre.
