Etymology (name origin)
The name might derive from the Latin word mola, mill, or from the French name Moulins, related to the name of the Lords who ruled the region in the Middle Ages, whose origins were in the Norman march of Moulins-la-Marche.
Geography
Molise borders Abruzzo to the north-west, Lazio to the west, Campania to the south, Apulia to the southeast and the Adriatic Sea to the northeast.
