The picture is a view from the main road. The St. Mary Magdalene Collegiate was built by atranesi citizens in honor of the Virgin Mary for having made them free of Saracen rule. It features a Baroque facade, a majolica dome and a squared bell tower housing two bells. The church houses the Andrea Sabatini's painting representing "St.Thomas incredulity".

View of the little square dedicated to king Humbert I, in the center of the town; the piazza is completely surrounded by houses. The little square is over hanged by the main Amalfi coast's road that leads to the St. Salvador Birect's Church. In the background you can see a foreshortening of Holy Mary Magdalene Collegiate.

Foto Atrani: St. Salvador of Birecto's Church
In the picture you can see the Tower Bell of St. Salvador of Birecto's Church. It dates back to 940 and was the old seat of ceremonies and burial of Dogi. The church's name refers to the traditional dogal hat, called "Biretto". The Church features a bronze door which, as that of Amalfi Dome, was foundered in Constantinople by Pantaleone Viarecta; in the naves are some silver marquetries representing Christ, the Virgin Lady and the Saints.
