The Sorrento's Cathedral has been rebuilt and restored several times during centuries: the last restoration was completed in 1924. Noteworthy are the Aragonese portal and the medieval bell tower, the latter reshaped according to the eighteen century style.

The main square of the town is dedicated to Torquato Tasso, one of the greatest poets of Italy, who was born in Sorrento in 1544. In the middle are St. Antonino's statue and a Poet's monument, on the sides other important buildings such as St. Mary of the Carmine and the Corleone Palace. The square is the lively centre of the town and its bars are nice meeting points for local young people and for many tourists.
