The church was rebuilt after the Second World War's bombing thanks to the funds raised by a citizens' committee. Noteworthy is the massive freestanding bell tower situated ahead of the church.

The Town Hall is reminiscent of the rationalist-fascist architecture characterized by the use of both basic elements - such as lines and planes organized to emphasize the building's frame - and classic features - which revealed a link with classic Roman architecture. The fascist regime, actually, praised the glory of ancient Rome in order to justify its then current rule.

The church dates back to the 16th century and has been remodelled several times. The facade is very simple. In the transept is placed a remarkable baroque altar.
